Originally written as an answer to the late seventies hit, the song was revived in 2021 with new lyrics when Nicole was challenged to perform the oldest song they could remember writing.

He was a Cosmic Cowboy Yankee up from New Jersey way Heard that song about Luckenbach so he decided to go away He bought some boots and faded jeans and hopped into his car now you friendly folk out in Luckenbach you gotta tell him where you are
He can’t seem to find Luckenbach but he found Paris and Rhome And Cut N Shoot and Cleveland but not the one in Ohio oh oh Oatmeal, Noodle, Bacon Turkey, though they don’t serve breakfast there And he found his way to Dallas but never found the Ole State Fair…
CHORUS Because he is driving all over Texas looking for Luckenbach Can’t seem to find a road sign so he don’t know where to stop He’s been up and down every FM road but he still ain’t found it yet His fate is sealed to ride these roads from Kerrville to Crockett (Beeville to Burnet)

Lucky, he drives a compact car and gas wasn’t too dear Last I heard he was in Fredericksburg so he was kinda near ear But he took hisself a wrong turn and wound up in El Paso
Will he ever make it to Luckenbach? I guess we’ll never know
Well, he caught a cold in Pflugerville so he had to make a stop
But he made yet another wrong turn and wound up in Round Top ooooop
Then he caught nasal drip in Dripping Springs but cured it in Beeville`
Maybe he'll make it one day but I don't think he ever will.

Well, he found hisself in Bogotá not Colombia of course
And yet another wrong turn and he wound up in LaPorte ----ort
Just a couple miles from Gilley’s so he stopped to drink a beer
(spoken) He asked where the hell is Luckenbach?

Then he found the town of Bigfoot
Thought he’d see the big fella there
But instead he found just a little ole town that
With a little ole small-town square .But he needed to get some gas and stopped off at the Texaco
But he made another wrong turn
Almost wound up in Mexico!
